For centuries in Denmark, Jule (or Yule) is that cold and dark time of the year when great fires are lit and there are much feasting and merriment. Julemand is our version of the Danish equivalent of Santa Claus and is from the original SAINT-TO-CLAUS series of wooden Santa figures designed by Joretta Headlee.
