Hardanger is a beautiful form of needlework that appears complicated but involves only a few basic stitches. These simple stitches can be mastered by even the beginning stitcher. The women of western Norway (near the Hardanger fjord, hence the name) traditionally used white thread on white fabric to decorate clothing and linens.
