The original antique sampler that influenced this design is pictured on the back cover of his pattern. "Fait par R. Goguet, 1833" was stitched into the design, and translates to "Made by R. Goguet." This sweet French sampler with different borders, and the large rosebud basket felt like the perfect sampler to adapt in celebration of Barb's third great grandmother Sarah Jane Hale.
